    Moscow is the capital of the Russian Federation and the largest city of Russia as well as Europe and even the whole world. According to the 2007 statistics the population of city was about 11-15 mln people, and the population of the whole agglomeration – more than 20 mln people. It’s also major transport junction counting for 4 airports, 9 railway stations and 3 river ports. There is also a famous metropolitan (175 stations). Average temperature in May is about 14-18 °C.

  • History of Moscow

    Moscow was founded in 1147 by prince Yuri Dolgoruki. It has never changed its name throughout its long life contrary to other numerous Russian cities. The city was named by the river upon which it stands. The Red Square and the Kremlin are claimed to be the historical centre of Moscow, and the Kremlin ensemble has been acknowledged as one of the UNESCO world heritage sites.

  • Modern Moscow

    Nowadays Moscow is a sea of lights and possibilities - millions of people from the former USSR come down here for them. There are thousands of cafes, restaurants, boutiques, shops and entertainment centres in Moscow. But Moscow is rich not only with them, but also with its cultural and historical heritage – architecture, museums, theatres and its very historical centre, where different ages and centuries are fancifully interwoven.
